Governance

Residents are the heart of our organisation, in a position to influence and drive up service standards. We work with residents to offer the best value for money and ensure we’re spending our money wisely.

Area Panels hold us accountable for service delivery at a local level, while Repairs and Maintenance Panels (RAMPs) hold us accountable for Asset Management service delivery at a regional level.

Each Area Panel nominates two of its representatives to sit on the Residents' Council which has a more strategic remit.

There are also four residents on the Strategic Board. This ensures members of the Board are aware of issues concerning residents.

Area Panels

Each Area Panel has between eight and 12 members – a mixture of residents and independent people from outside the organisation, who share a drive to make a real difference.

Our Area Panels:

• Scrutinise and monitor local performance and services
• Influence our decisions
• Set local priorities
• Make local decisions and recommendations
• Increase resident involvement.

Repairs and Maintenance Panels (RAMPs)

There are three RAMPs across Kent, London and Sussex.

Our RAMPs:

• Scrutinise asset management performance at a regional level
• Influence our decisions
• Make regional decisions and recommendations
• Use feedback from Resident Monitors to scrutinise quality of repairs and resident satisfaction.

Residents' Council

Our Residents' Council looks at the work of the AmicusHorizon Board and has input into decisions being made.

It represents all residents by:

• Scrutinising and monitoring standards and service delivery
• Focusing on resident issues of concern and making sure they are addressed by our Board and Strategic
  Executive Team
• Influencing Board decisions on resident issues
• Supporting and developing the effectiveness of the Area Panels and RAMPs.

Residents’ Council also commissions scrutiny projects, read about our latest review here.

Local Improvement Fund

Over the years Area Panels have funded a wide range of environmental and community projects through the Local Improvement Fund.

Residents’ Council have taken the difficult decision to bring this to an end.  The money will be used to provide essential services to residents.

If you have a great idea for a project in your neighbourhood, get in touch to see if we can signpost you to an alternative funder. You can call us on 0800 121 60 60 or email us on contactus@amicushorizon.org.uk.
